What makes a pair of horse clippers really great? Ease of use, maybe. A long battery life, or an extra long cord. A piece of machinery that does its job without too many stops and spurts. Generally speaking, what makes a good pair of clippers is one that you turn on and don’t have to worry about.

After many, many years (seriously like 20) my trusty pair of Wahl clippers I used for face and bridle path trimmings was in need of retirement. Because of just how durable and reliable my last pair was, Wahl was of course the brand I looked to for a replacement. I settled on the Wahl Figura Prolithium Rechargeable Clippers – a sleek new set perfect for simple muzzle, ears, fetlocks and face trims.

Wahl’s Figura line uses a lithium ion battery that lasts 90 minutes. Its charger also offers a quick 10-minute charge time for every five additional minutes of run time.

The ergonomic design makes it easy to handle, even for tough-to-reach spots or longer grooming jobs. The clippers are quiet too, perfect for close clips in sensitive areas.

The Figura model uses a 5 in 1 fine blade, which is sharp and up for the task of heavy duty jobs. The clippers offer cutting length adjustments from #9, #10, #15, #30 and #40. Plus the blades snap on and off easily, making it seamless to clean and replace as needed.

I love these clippers and don’t know why I waited so long to replace my trusty but clearly outdated pair. The Figura is a great pair to keep around the barn for any quick trimming job, for horses to even dogs.
