Product Review: Redingote Joggers Knee-Patch Breech

I’ve been a big fan of Redingote for a long time. Just last month, I was grateful I remembered to pack my Redingote Rain Gear in my trailer before heading out to a very wet and cold horse trials weekend at Rocking Horse Stables in Central Florida. It was a lifesaver on those windy and damp cross-country course walks.

So when Redingote announced a new line of breeches and riding shirts, I was thrilled. I loved the innovative design and stylish colors of their winter and rain gear. Naturally, these same flattering but functional features crossed over into their line of riding apparel. I got to try out Redingote’s new Jogger Knee-Patch Breeches and let me tell you, they are a game changer.

This causal, but thoughtful breech design combines the best of both worlds: breech and sweatpants. That might sound a little weird at first, but it works. And if there were ever a time for sweatpant breeches, it’s now. The joggers are mare of thicker material and offer a drawstring and waistband fit. The material has a four-way stretch and is moisture wicking.

Despite the comfort of the thicker material, the breeches still offer compression and a flattering fit. The first time I rode in them I fell in love. I wore them with sandals on a trip to the grocery store right after. They’re a pair of breeches I can put on at the start of my day while I work-from-home, and comfortably wear until it’s time to sneak out to the barn for a ride.

I paired my new jogger breeches with Redignote’s Color Block Long Sleeve Shirt. I’m in love with the color scheme – three rich, earthy tones you might know from Redingote’s winter suit offerings. Paired together, they offer a stylish look. The soft but technical fabric of this shirt makes it easy to wear in warm or cooler weather. It’s stretchy, moisture wicking and quick to dry, basically built to stand up for any tough riding day. I’ve gotten compliments every time I’ve worn it out. And honestly, it pairs beautifully with the jogger breeches.

This outfit is a great gift for any hardworking rider you know. I’m thrilled to add it to my own wardrobe.
