Heels Down Media launches Heels Down Art
Heels Down Media announces the launch of Heels Down Art, a new collection of paper goods and home decor featuring the work of independent equine artists.
Horses and art are undoubtedly connected through their ability to lift us up and provide an escape from the day-to-day grind. By combining our love of the animal with stunning artistic renditions, we can more fully appreciate their athleticism, emotion and beauty.
The collection includes greeting cards and other quality paper goods featuring colorful equine-inspired displays, accessories for the home and office, and dazzling gifts for any horse lover.
Staying true to Heels Down’s mission, each item in the collection is printed locally by small businesses and a percentage of every sale goes directly to the individual artist.
Meet the artists:
Alexandra Lederman is an equestrian lifestyle oil painter based in Ohio. Alexandra follows the “old school” painting process designed by the “Old Masters”, such as Leonardo da Vincini and Michelangelo. She combines her passions for color, oil painting and living the equestrian lifestyle to come up with rich and colorful, original works of art. “Your horse deserves nothing but the best, which is why I use and continue to educate myself on the highest quality fine art materials in the industry.” Alexanda was a finalist for the 2021 Heels Down Spark Awards in the Art & Design category. Gretchen Almy is an accomplished equine and canine portrait artist based in Massachusetts. She’s spent her life around horses, and left a career in product design behind to chase her passion of being a full-time artist. She studied art in Italy for a semester and has been painting animal portraits, landscapes and abstract pieces ever since. “Portraiture is not about a ‘pretty’ painting of a horse or dog, it’s about capturing the soul of each animal you paint.” Visit her website at galmydesigns.com.
Tori Bilas is a lifelong artist and horse lover from North Carolina. She creates portraits that capture the special bond between horse and human. Her pieces focus on expression, color, surface, and personality. Tori aims to help viewers feel the same connections and tenderness for her subjects as she does when she paints them.
