Do Horses Sleep Standing Up?

Do horses really sleep while standing up? The answer is: sort of.

Horses do rest while standing on all fours, but it’s not necessarily a “deep sleep.” Horses are able to rest comfortably during the day standing up. But they still require “deep sleep, or REM sleep.”
