Product Review: Gallagher’s Water
Is it just me, or are you ready for summer to be OVER already?!
It’s been a miserable couple of weeks in large swaths of the horse riding world. I’m entering week three of a record heat wave in the southern U.S. and all I can say is… I know why y’all leave Florida before the rainy season hits. Luckily for us – and more importantly, the horses – there are a few things out there to help us get through this terrible stretch of hot and humid weather.
I couldn’t get through the months of June – September in Florida without Gallagher’s Water. This is an equine beverage made just for horses, and is meant to replenish electrolytes and keep your horses hydrated. It can be served hot or cold, so it’s a great treat to use year round.
You pour the contents of Gallagher’s Water into two gallons of water, mix, and serve in a bucket. If used daily (which in this weather, I am absolutely using it daily) to prevent dehydration. My horses come to beg on the cross ties for their bucket of Gallagher’s Water after a steamy morning workout.
It’s a great tool to use on the road too – to encourage drinking before or long hauls and at horse shows. The all-natural and competition-safe ingredients include alfalfa and electrolytes with minimal sugar. Gallagher’s Water comes in individual pouches, which makes it easy to store and transport.
If you haven’t given Gallagher’s Water a try yet, this ultra brutal summer is definitely a good time to change that.
