If you don’t want to clip your horse’s entire leg, simply clipping the longer hair on the back of the leg is a great way to spruce up your horse’s appearance before a lesson or a show. As Liv Gude of Professional Equine Grooms explains in the following video, the longer hair at the back of the fetlock serves to guide water away from the horse’s heels, but when the weather warms up and show season approaches, that hair won’t be so necessary, so clip away!
