The U25 Equestrian Creativity Awards is an international competition for to recognize the creative talent of young equestrians in the following five categories: photography, blogging, art and design, entrepreneurship, and video production.
Winners of each category will receive a full page featuring their work in an issue of Heels Down Magazine, social media promotion, an opportunity to contribute to Heels Down Media and a portfolio free for a year on the Equestrian Creative Network.
Each category has a panel of three judges who are experts in their field. We’re extremely proud to introduce them in a series of blog posts! Here is the first round of judges that will be reviewing the competitor’s creative and entrepreneurial entries.

Elizabeth Wiley, Art and Design Category – Elizabeth Wiley (Liz) was born in Abilene, TX, where she learned to ride dressage. She studied Fine Art at The University of Texas at Arlington. She now lives in Dallas and works full time as an equestrian artist.
“My style is loose and free. There are graphic elements with playful layers of paint. I want to capture the gracefulness of dressage and the communication between horse and rider. I simplify the image and often leave areas unpainted or left out. My paintings are time capsules, capturing the emotion of the moment in each painting. I hope that my work inspires love for horses and expresses the elegance of theses wonderful beings.”
Her work has been featured in Crate and Barrel, The Chronicle of the Horse, Horse and Style Magazine and on the book cover of The Dressage Way by Susan Medenica. Visit www.lizwiley.com.
