Barn Nails

If you are female and anything like me you know that it’s hard to escape the barn without getting dirt under your nails, and what’s the easiest way to keep that dirt from being seen when you’re running to go out in public after the barn? Nail polish.

BUT if you have tried going to the barn with pretty painted nails you also know that the minute you give your horse a bath or clean your tack, that nail polish is chipping off. While this provides an opportunity to change the color often, it also means you have to reprint your nails quite frequently – which I don’t have time for.

My solution has been UV gel nails. You can get them done at a salon or do them yourself at home using any number of at home packs sold at drugstores!

It’s not a fake nail, it’s just super thick nail polish that is hardened by UV lights. It lasts 7-10 days and doesn’t harm your nails the way acrylics do! The picture above shows my nails after 12 days and they’re barely chipped!
